Welcome to the Inforiver Enterprise 2.4 release update. We are thrilled to announce several new features and key enhancements to scenarios, forecasting and writeback- most anticipated by our Inforiver community!
Key enhancements in this 2.4 release are listed below. Feel free to jump to any specific section!
A much-awaited feature – you can now create scenarios for the measure on rows layout as well!
Consider that you have created a scenario with auto writeback enabled. When you try to run simulations without performing an initial baseline writeback – the auto writeback is paused, and a notification is displayed.
Inforiver’s time intelligence has been extended to auto detect additional time formats such as Month Year (Jul 2020) and Quarter Year (Q3 2020).
If your dataset contains dates that are not in Power BI format, the months will be sorted alphabetically as shown in the image below.
When you generate a forecast for such datasets, the months are automatically re-ordered and displayed in chronological order.
If you have future periods as well in your datasets, this will not hinder the creation of forecasts.
In the example below, the current month is September and data is available for the rest of the year. Notice how the forecast has been accurately created for future months although the dataset includes future data as well.
The ‘Manage forecast’ interface has been advanced to a more intuitive and detailed version. Inforiver also enables you to easily make changes to an existing forecast (re-forecasting) from the edit forecast settings.
The UI for auto writeback settings has been upgraded to a more accessible version with additional options.
You can now set the auto writeback time interval between 0 to 5 seconds, with 0 triggering immediate writebacks and 5 being the default debounce time.
You can now extract the writeback logs based on the event type.
A new milestone has been added to the writeback logs to capture the “Processing data input” step.
The section below outlines the features in the 2.4 release that have been added to make your interactions with Inforiver a smoother, more efficient, and straightforward experience.
To make job monitoring hassle-free and for effortless investigation of job failures, filters applied to reports will have separate child jobs which run under the main job. This also simplifies the process of re-triggering jobs in case of failures.
The time zone used for setting up a report subscription will now reflect the system time settings.
If you are sourcing the options for single or multi-select dropdown fields from a dataset, a search capability has been provided to locate the workspace with minimal effort.
The 2.4 release is also compatible with the latest Power BI Desktop version -2.120.963.0 (August 2023).
